Fire Fighters Top No Claims List

Fire Fighters are the most likely occupation to have full no claims bonus according to research by Bell. On the other hand, Students make up the most drivers with zero no claims bonus.

Part of the Admiral Group, Bell, which specialises in saving money for drivers with zero no claims bonus, looked at over 80,000 drivers to see who had the most and least no claims bonus. When looking at occupations where most drivers have full no claims bonus, Fire Fighters top the list followed by Manufacturing Workers and Airline Pilots. At the other end of the list are Students, Building Labourers, and Soldiers are most likely to have zero no claims bonus.

Bell managing director, Sue Longthorn, commented, “Although Fire Fighters have the highest incidence of full no claims, it doesn’t necessarily make them safer drivers than Students, as it is not only accidents that leave people with zero no claims. Students often have limited access to cars and so have less of a chance to build up no claims bonus.”

She continued, “However, it is interesting to think that maybe after an adrenaline fuelled day fighting fires, Fire Fighters like to take it easy when driving and this makes them less likely to cause an accident.”

People can have zero no claims bonus for a number of reasons such as being newly qualified drivers, having been named drivers on someone else’s policy, ex-company car drivers, or having been hit by an uninsured driver.
