How it works

Once you've added Bell Breakdown Cover to your policy it couldn't be simpler to use.

When you call, we need you to tell us the make and model of your car, in addition to your insurance policy number and registration number. We'll also need to know your location so we can find you as quickly as possible and your phone number so we can call or text you to keep you informed.

The operator will contact you to tell you which technician will be attending and how long they will be.

How can I add Bell Breakdown Cover to my policy?

Just call Customer Services on 0333 220 2011 and your cover will start 48 hours later - it couldn't be easier.

Calls to 03 numbers will cost no more than calls to national geographic numbers (starting 01 or 02) from both mobiles and landlines.

If your breakdown isn't up for renewal yet, just give our customer services team a call closer to the time to see about adding cover.

Can you pass on messages?

If your breakdown has made you late for a meeting at work or if your family are expecting you at home - don't worry! We're always happy to pass on a message or two for you.

Does my membership cover me or my car?

Cover is provided for the car shown on your policy schedule, whilst being driven by you or anyone else insured to drive your car.

Am I covered if my car breaks down at home?

If you have National Plus or European Plus breakdown cover, we offer three Home Assists if your car won't start for you at home, or within a quarter of a mile radius/straight line of your home.

What happens if I lose my keys?

If you lose or break your keys give us a call and we'll be happy to help you (the cost of replacement keys/locks are not covered).
